Came in from the rain and the employees were nice enough to get me a towel to dry off. I ordered the beef and string beans and a lychee martini. The entree was great, only think I would change is maybe ask if they could make it spicy next time. My cocktail was good and strong. Definitely recommend of you want a low key spot for Chinese food.

I'm quite satisfied. The water spilled, and I immediately came to deal with it. There is a special lunch on the menu, but it is only available at noon on weekdays, so I can't enjoy it. The price of snacks is not high. After all, stir-frying three fresh dishes. The waiter specially reminded me that it was a vegetarian dish. The moment I served it, I thought it was sweet. Fortunately, it was not. The couple's lung slices and the pork are good. It's not too spicy, and the taste is quite authentic.

Yesterday, I stopped by with friends and had a wonderful meal. Every dish we ordered was delicious. The mapo tofu was especially outstanding. I also highly recommend the eggplant dish. We enjoyed everything even more with some Tsingtao beer and had a great time together.

The city howled at us that night, a cold, unforgiving New York that crept through Patagonia coat, full grain leather, and human spirit alike. We had crawled from Connecticut sustained by coffee and conversations, and by the time Manhattan appeared, warm authentic Chinese food sounded good, and then there was Ollie’s. Inside, all the nonsense of “fine dining” vanished. No velvet ropes. No tragic little portions arranged by philosophers pretending to be chefs. Just steam from the kitchen, clattering plates, and the glorious chaos of a proper Sichuan joint doing what needs to be done on a freezing evening. My lady ordered the beef with broccoli. She liked it, and in matters of supper, a wise gentleman quickly learns that her satisfaction is ultimately the higher law. I, meanwhile, ordered the roast duck noodle soup, a bowl restorative enough that it could likely reconcile feuding nations. The broth carried warmth, the noodles held their dignity, and the duck possessed the exact degree of sinful saltiness demanded by a winter’s evening. The dumplings, alas, simply were not my style. Perfectly harmless little fellows, but lacking the elegance and spirit one hopes for in such things,
